Privacy policy
Effective October 5, 2026.
Sandpiper is a walking app for iPhone, made by an independent developer, Andrew Tan ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses and where it goes. The short version: your plan and your walks stay on your phone, we don't sell anything about you, and there are no ads.
Information that stays on your iPhone
These are stored only on your device and are never sent to us:
- Your answers to the setup questions (for example your first name, how often you'd like to walk, and any joints that give you trouble).
- Your walk and workout history, how each one felt, and anything you tick after a walk.
- Your progress: journeys, postcards, bingo cards, badges and streaks.
- Your settings, including reminder times.
Reminders and walk cues are scheduled on your phone. Spoken cues are produced on your phone.
If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it. You can also clear it at any time with Settings → Start over in the app. We don't have a copy, so we can't restore it for you.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email address or payment details.
To manage subscriptions we use RevenueCat, a subscription service. When you open the app or make a purchase, the app sends RevenueCat an anonymous ID created for this app, details of your App Store purchases (such as which plan, when it started and when it renews), and basic technical information (such as the app version, your device's operating system and your IP address). We use this only to check whether you have Premium and to understand subscription numbers. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your information for advertising.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't ask for or store your location.
- We don't have user accounts.
Children
Sandpiper is made for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices and rights
Because your walking information stays on your phone, you control it directly. To ask about or delete the purchase information held by RevenueCat, email us at support@sandpiperwalking.com and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your personal information; contact us and we'll respond.
Changes
If we change how the app uses information, for example by adding a new feature or service, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
